Today is the last day of the 16th Jashan-e-Naqeebi, one of the largest religious and spiritual gatherings in Pakistan. It is being celebrated at the place of Naqeeb Abad sharif near Qasoor on Ferozpur road. All famous religious and spiritual scholars are participating in that Urs.
This Urs is celebrated in the memory of one of the greatest muslim saint on the history Hazrat Khwaja faqir SufiNaqeeb Ullah Shah (RA). He is the one who travelled the most for Islam ofter Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jellani (RA) on this earth. He basically belonged to Kashmir but travelled to Punjab and got settled there according to the order of his Peer Hazrat Khwaja Hassan Shah (RA). His shrine is in Naqeeb Abad sharif near Qasoor. where this Urs is being celebrated.
Urs started from 4th Oct. Today night there is going to be the last Mehfil-e-Sama. Tomorrow Mehfil-e-Rang will take place and then this will come to an end. Tomorrow night there will be Mehfil-e-Khas for the people who have been on Astana-e-Alia for certain duties on this Urs.
