bulleh shah nu murshad milya
(Bulleh Shah found a Spiritual Guide)

onhay aeveen ja bakhshaya
( who led him to forgiveness without any effort)

this is one of the most famous extracts of bulleh shah's poetry. Now people make criticism on this piece of poetry and say that Nauzbillah those following tasawwuf think that they dont need to perform obligatory actions as ordered to us by Islam.
I'll try to explain what Bulleh Shah (Original name Hazrat Abdullah Shah Qadri Qaddas Sirrahul Aziz) has said in this piece of poetry.
There is a concept in tasawwuf called tasawwur e shaykh i.e imagination of your murshid and thinking that your Murshid is getting divine blessings and that those blessings are being transferred to you through his heart. This is a form of muraqbah.it is also known as raabita (connection).Bulleh shah is actually saying that i did'nt get that much benefit from obligatory prayers as much as i got from murshid.this is an expression of humbleness not of denial. He is saying actually that i do'nt consider my prayers as prayers ,i dont consider my fasting as fasting. am a humble one.How can i fulfil the rights of Allah? His blessings are countless and my life is so limited.I dont think that my prayer or fasting has done me a favour. But i say it for sure that my Murshid who is a pious one and has divine blessings, his association ,his fayz will InshaAllah make me successful.
Second, interpretation of this kalam is taht as you all know that Bulleh Shah was a Qalandar .He was at the maqam of Fanaa.where a person loses his senses apparently because he does'nt care for duniya o maafiha (the world and the things within it).In such a state he has no sense that i am missing my obligatory actions. The point is that such a person is excused in shariyat and tasawwuf.because if a person is sleeping and he misses his obligatory prayer he wo'nt be asked about that although he has to make qazaa for it,he wo'nt be punished for missing the prayer. This is a very common point of fiqah. So,a person at Fanaa is also excused in a similar fashion.Bulleh shah says that it is my Murshid who has led me to such higher place.therefore i attribute it to my Murshid (Hazrat Inayat Qadri RehmatUllahi Alaye hi) who has taken me to such a high place and therefore i am satisified that despite of missing some obligatory actions,i'll not suffer and all this is due to the fayz of my Murshid.
