Pre-destination and Choice

Assalam u alayekum!
this is a topic which has been under the discussion among sufiya for a very long time.
it is known as "masla e qaza o qadar".
Many a times in our lives we hear that "man is the architect of his own fortune" etc etc.
We also hear people complaining that everything has been pre-destined ,nothing is under the control of we human beings (NauzBillah :We seek Allah's refuge from such expressions).
Actually these expressions are extremes of two views.
The first one is the view of Mo'tazillis who called them Muslims and Sufis but due to their false beliefs were declared Kaafir (apostates/non-believers).Mo'tazillis believed that man can do whatever he thinks.
Unfortunatey,modern education is injecting this thought into our masses consciously and sub-consciously.
On the other hand ,if one considers the later bview he becomes accused of complaining to Allah indirectly because accepting such a view means that following the right path or not was also pre-destined (NauzBillah).
So sufiya say that the actual reality is in between of these two.this is the view of writer of Kashf UL Mehjuub Syedna Ali Bin Usman Al Hajveri (May Allah's blessings be upon him and may Allah sanctify his soul)known as Hazrat Daata Ganjj Bakhsh,Syedna Imam Muhammad Baqir (May Allah's blessings be upon him and May Allah sanctify his soul),Syedna Ali (May Allah's bvlessings upon be him for his Holy face is one of the blessings of Allah) etc.
Somebody asked Syedna Ali (May Allah's bvlessings upon be him for his Holy face is one of the blessings of Allah) about the choice.Syedna Ali (May Allah's bvlessings upon be him for his Holy face is one of the blessings of Allah) asked him to stand on one foot.when he followed,Syedna Ali (May Allah's bvlessings upon be him for his Holy face is one of the blessings of Allah) asked him to stand while lifting both feet from ground.he answered that i can't do so.Syedna Ali (May Allah's bvlessings upon be him for his Holy face is one of the blessings of Allah) replied that same is the matter of choice.Allah has given choice to man in some matters and in some matters he is bound to Allah's ordain.
